I've seen a few in silver sparkle that include two floor toms and a 20" bass drum. These would be perfect for me if I could find one at a reasonable price Koopa not sure on that set, but it looks like birch kit, I coulnt find a definative all birch anywhere my self but if its the one im thinking of it is a great looking set, and Sonor makes good stuff all around. If it were me It would have to be all birch, no fillers no byproducts. I f we could have established that they would be at my buddies house now.
I believe the seller is the same guy I bought my Superstars from a month ago, pretty knowledgeable guy, its grey area for sure. Thanks, guys. As it turns out the dimensions weren't exactly what I was looking for so I had to pass. Dean - what've you got against maple? Koopa Sawyer said:. You must log in or register to reply here. I contacted SONOR and they said the drums are made of basswood I was hoping for birch or maple, but I'm gonna take the drive and check them out. Thank you all for the help. PS - Any opinions on basswood? Shawn M Very well Known Member. RyanR Underaged Curmudgeon. I almost bought one of the Bop kits It arrived yesterday, and I'm blown away by the quality. In other words, it's the same ol' mantra: you can get some kits of lesser known brands Premier, Slinfgerland, etc for short money.
They cease to be a Special Edition if they release them every year More like "leftover extras". The reason I doubt their response is that you say the bass drum is 22" which is not offered in the new SE series.
The tom mount will also be different on the SE series as they will be shell mounted. Here's a pic of my badge. The only reason this was considered Special Edition was the non-conventional shell pack. The drums themselves were s. It was a marketing effort basically including an extra tom. Here is a pic of the mounting hardware.
Vastly different than the SE line. I hope they're the s. Waiting to hear back from the seller so I can check them out.
Honestly, I'm in love with the finish. I'm just hoping they sound good! You must log in or register to reply here. Latest posts. Favorite Drum Stick?

TuneSafe lugs are included on the drums to keep them in tune for a long. Also, you can convert the bass drum from rubber to spikes. It is a perfect compact kit for a jazz drummer and anyone with limited space. Portable and undersized kits have become very popular today. And Sonor introduced three options in their Special Edition series, among them this tiny Martin configured with a 14 by inch bass drum.
It is one of the smallest kits you will ever find on the market. The Drum kit comes packed in a single small box, carrying the bass drum, with tom mounts and pedal lifter, 8 by 8-inch mounted tom, 13 by inch floor tom, and a 12 by 5-inch steel snare drum. All drums come with pre-installed heads, except for the bass drum. Shells are 9-ply poplar, while the bass drum hoops are veer.
It is super compact. Sonor Special Edition Best to buy in Sonor Ascent Special Edition. Get it on Amazon. Sonor Special Edition. Sonor Bop Special Edition. Check Price on Amazon. Share on facebook.
