Easy clock in procedures with ADP. Kids great. Requires some aptitude to teach students. Easy to hire for college students. Indeed Featured review The most useful review selected by Indeed.
Great place to start. Only there for a few months. Just needed a part time to pay for tuition. Wouldn't recommend for long term work. It is mostly a chill job. You need a strong voice. Staff with powerful voices often do the best with the kids. High turnover rate is expected as it is mostly college students being hired as program leaders.
The stakes are obviously high, you're dealing with children and their education. You must show some passion to better their growth. Pros Chill, Great kids, Helpful supervisors. Cons No mobility, Don't expect raises or promotions. Was this review helpful? Yes No. Report Share. I worked for this company for 3 years. Previous site coordinators never stuck around very long and it affected the program and the kids. The last coordinator I was under was amazing. She really cared about the kids and the program.
It makes a difference. Students were very limited to fun activities, but I tried to make the best of it and build relationships with the students. Pros Safe place for students Help with homework available for students. Cons No benefits for employees. Fun to work with kids but management is unfair. It really just comes down to who you have as the site coordinator, I got lucky with mine. I was given a chance to actually train a bit with my site coordinator since he let me and my other new coworker shadow the other program leader until we were ready to manage a class of our own.
Before I was going to put in my two weeks I was told that they wanted me moved to another school for my last two weeks. I said no because I was going to be leaving any way I saw it unnecessary to be moved. This had happened to another coworker of mine who was told on the exact same day that it was his last day with us and he was being moved to another school.
The managements communication with their staff is horrible if they plan on moving you from school to school you will know the day of or you will be the last one to know. They do not have the kids in mind and the connections we create with them, a lot of the kids cry because their teacher left so suddenly. Pros Working with kids, fun coworkers. Cons It can be stressing, high expectations, bad management. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No. Amazing program and very rewarding.
I loved how all kind and down to earth the staff were I would recommend people to apply here. It has been one of my favorite Places to work at. Pros Support. Cons Low pay. It's a very stressful job to have due to being heavily understaffed. There will be times where 1 person is expected to take care of 58 kids or two people with 58 ect. It's very flexible and my manager was the absolute best.
I felt home there and they always helped us with pick me ups and whatnot. Dress code isn't half bad and you really get a great relationship with kids and learn how to better manage stress and emotions when working with kids as well.
You don't get payed during winter and spring break which is a HUGE impact on your paycheck. Pros Kids are funny 16 dollars an hour Winter and spring break off Light workload.
Job seekers rely on your experience. However, some kids are really challenging. On top of that you are getting paid minimum wage and minimum hours a day. This is good for someone who needs some extra cash or wants to gain experience with kids. It isn't a career choice however.
There is not much teaching involved, mostly just babysitting kids and occasionally helping out with homework. Subs will have to move around to different schools and it gets annoying to have to drive around. Sometimes they will send the wrong address. There is advancement possible if you've been in the company for a few years. Most enjoyable part is working with kids though you will run into behavioral issues at times. The least enjoyable part are the trainings with management.
The trainings are worrisome and feels very condescending at times. Pros Part-time. Cons Poor pay. A good place to start for someone who has no experience working with youth. Evening hours are convenient for morning students. The pay is very low, there is a lot of disorganization and not an ideal place to grow. Pros Evening hours, experience. Cons Low pay, disorganized. I loved working for my site. My manager was amazing and i truly felt supported by her and higher ups. Program Leader. After School Program Leader Riverside.
Enjoyed my job here with kindergarteners but pay is sad for what they ask you to do. You are basically a teacher and are required to do lesson plans and follow schedules. It is fun when you have a great group of kids willing to learn and adapt, sad when you have problem kids. Insanely high turn around, no consistency when it came to processes and accountability. The hierarchy of the company is conducive to the overburdening of lesser paid employees.
Loved working with the kids and school staff. Being at site was amazing. Gained a lot of experience with kids and education. High expectations and job resposibilities for little pay. Understaffed and unorganized at times.
Kind co-workers and kids are the best part of the job. Pros Snacks, Positive co-workers. Cons Pay, No Benefits, Understaffed. When we went back in person, program leaders were left to fail.

When we went back in person, program leaders were left to fail. No Thank You. We had no Site Coordinator until the 2nd week in, and even when hired. They had no support from QAC and school staff. They also do NOT give you more than 20 hours weekly. You also have to be available from pm five days out of the week. The training's the company makes you attend are useless.
They preach about having a successful after-school program, but it all seems fake since higher management can't properly communicate with their employees.
Avoid this job, it is not worth it! You are better off being an instructional aid with the district with better pay. Pros Weekends off. Cons 19 hours. The kids are the best part about this job. No communication from the top down.
But the kids are amazing!! Pros Kids. Cons Unrealistic expectations and forced political views. Working with kids is truly the highlight of this job. As well as coworkers who are also passionate. They hired me right away.
I worked there for 2 years in which I still did not make minimum wage. They did offer sick pay and you could pay into health care but once Covid hit a lot of people dropped out like flies.
